Luna does not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, an ingredient that makes toothpaste foamy when you brush, but can also irritate sensitive teeth and gums. Our natural formulation uses Bio-Saponins which are naturally occurring high-molecular-weight glycosides with distinct foaming characteristics. They are found in many plants, but get their name form the soapwort plant (Saponaria), of which the root was historically used in soap. Bio-Saponins is a proprietary blend of:

Luna contains Hydroxyapatite which is a naturally occurring form of the mineral Calcium Apatite, also known as Calcium Phosphate. It is a biocompatible material naturally occurring in our bones, teeth and saliva. It is the ideal ingredient for combating dentin hypersensitivity. It also contains natural Calcium Carbonate which in combination with the Calcium Hydroxyapatite offer the perfect solution to dentin hypersensitivity by sealing the pathways to sensitive tooth nerves to help block the pain.
Tooth Enamel consists of about 97% hydroxyapatite, 1.5% water and 1.5% collagen and other proteins. The presence of hydroxyapatite in your tooth enamel is what makes it the hardest substance in your body.
